Applied microsystems innovation laboratory

Contents:
Team project in which students implement their idea for a novel product that uses microsystems in a broader sense (e.g., sensors). The aim of the project is not only to build a working demonstrator but also to investigate all aspects of start-up projects, such as market potential, innovation/novelty, marketing and realizability. The module is designed to allow for participation in the VDE COSIMA competition. Interested groups are requested to contact Prof. Wapler in advance.

Prerequisites:
A good idea, a team, and a lot of motivation. Students decide for themselves whether they feel sufficiently qualified.

As the laboratories are still not completed (as of March 2026), we currently cannot offer more lab courses. We were hoping to offer modules on MEMS processes and MEMS devices.
